Hi!

Could anyone recommend a quiet simple site, mainly for tents, next to the beach? Anywhere within 4 hours drive of Manchester- for a family with kids.

I imagine these sort of sites are few and far between but would welcome any pointers.

Hi Timbertopper

Have you thought of Dumfriess and Galloway about 2 1/2 hrs from Man. There is a lovely site at Powfoot right on the beach and you can walk for miles it has aboout 50 or so statics and about 50 touring pitches also has tent field but you can camp in the touring pitches and if you pay an extrs £ or so you can get a beach front one it is a quite site but very nice and good base for days out.

The CC site at Southport is quite close to the beach but not actually by the beach.

Try Dyffryn seaside estate near Barmouth ,north wales...Right next to fantastic beach that goes for miles..with huge sand dunes for the kids to play in....mine loves it !!
