Can anyone suggest any good campsites in the South West region.It's just me and my son ( age  9) who go camping. Ideally, we're looking for a campsite that

• does not have a club house
• Is family friendly
• Near to a canal or something else intersting that we can explore during the day
• Does not have to have electric hook up
• Preferably with showers.

We're experineced campers and have 3 sites that we use on a regukar basis...both close to home (30 - 40 miles away) for weekends away and a couple further afireld for proper holidays. Though this year we'd like to experience something new. Any recommendations??

We're in the Cotswold area.

Try the Camping and Caravanning Club site at Devises. It is well laid out and alongside the canal, with a nice walk past the Caen Hill Flight locks into Devises.

This is where our van is kept, it is a well run and quiet site with a gorgeous camping meadow full of rabbits.  Haldon forest is adjacent with cycling through the woods and of course Dartmoor and the English Riviera are on your doorstep.  So much to see and do in such a small area, 2 years later we have barely scratched the surface.
