Is it me or has anybody  noticed the "slightly above" inflation price rises for 2008 bookings.Rang a site today and it had gone up 23% from 2007 prices and they are not alone.I am sure they need to cover their costs etc but how far will the prices go before people can no longer afford to pay it.We are cutting down to 10 nights this summer to keep it affordable and have a little left to go out and enjoy ourselves with.Has anybody else found similar increases?

yes i put a posting on last week about the price of site going up we go out quite often and look for special offers and go on holiday rallys we would not pay over £15 a night and that is to much as we dont go for sites with entertainment on

some are going to price them selves out of buisness and the price of fuel people are not going to travel hundreds of miles it going to cost a fortune

Join the CC and use their CL network. The sites are plain and simple, some extremely simple but generaly the prices they charge reflect what the site is like. You will not pay more than £9 a night uincluding electrics even in the high season. I have just booked my usual 70 nights for the year.

There's a lot of pressures being put on many businesses. Fuel is the most high profile, water is another, waste disposal is a problem that no-one wants (& doesn't come within the council tax for many businesses). Also, rent & rates have gone through the roof as a result of the massive rise in property/land values.

I also guess that, like most small businesses, camp sites have tried for a while now to minimise price rises whilst having all these increases imposed upon them.

Sorry everyone - this is the way of Britain today, not just the camping world.
