There's a lot of pressures being put on many businesses. Fuel is the most high profile, water is another, waste disposal is a problem that no-one wants (& doesn't come within the council tax for many businesses). Also, rent & rates have gone through the roof as a result of the massive rise in property/land values.
I also guess that, like most small businesses, camp sites have tried for a while now to minimise price rises whilst having all these increases imposed upon them.
Sorry everyone - this is the way of Britain today, not just the camping world.
