Hi

Been looking at this site and it looks good and has had good reviews if you like the all action family holiday.

Does anyone  know whether you can use inflatable kayaks or boats on the lake?

Also can the children fish there without a rod licience if they are accompanied by a adult?

Is the touring area good and in a good location on site?

Apart from the leisure park next door what else is there to see and do in the local area for a active famile

Many thanks

Adam

Hi, we stayed at Thorpe Park twice last year, so it can't be that bad !.  At certain times of the year their prices are very cheap, considering what you get.  My teenage daughter enjoyed it, spent all her money in the arcade.  Can't comment about the lake or fishing, sorry.  We were concerned at first, because Haven isn't mine & OH's cup of tea but it was fine.  The touring site is away from the hub of the activities so we weren't bothered by noise and unruly kids.  The best thing about this site is that it is 2 minutes walk to the beach.  You can walk all the way into Cleethorpes centre, it isn't very far, you can take the little train, you can cycle as there is a proper footpath and it is ok for pushing prams etc.

We had a great time, and would go back, but only if the price is right.  If you are members of the Caravan Club, look in the back of the supplement book sent out a few weeks ago - there is a voucher for free nights at Haven sites.

I have been to thorpe park several times in a static caravan with my family, we have booked 10 nights in june in our tourer this year becasue of the cheap prices out of school holidays.  The site is great, they have a great golf course, amusements etc. Wonderful for kids & dogs as you have good access to the beach.  Lots of nice places to travel to whilst your there, well worth a drive to mablethopre, with its lovely beaches and take a ride on the sand train!!!

Sure you'll love it!!

Hi

I thought everyone over 12 needed a rod licence - people might turn a blind eye I suppose - last year my husband got a rod and bought a licence and he fished with our son, who was 11 at the time, and they never got asked for licences etc.

Deb

I was advised to get myself a rod licence if I wanted to take the kids fresh water fishing, as some water baliffs might turn awkward if I was helping one of them.
As it was it was never used due to the delightful summer.   Ring the park and ask.
