We stayed on a site at Heywood at a stables, sorry, can't remember the name and can't see it anywhere. It was a C&CC CS. Don't know if it's closed down.

We stay at Middle Woodbatch Farm in Bishops Castle in Shropshire. They can stable your horse there and they are on a walking trail that goes through Shropshire.

I hope it is near enough to you because it really is gorgeous. We camped there three times last year and have booked two weekends already for this year.

Kirsty

the troutbeck caravan club site at keswick is next door to a place called rookin house - it is an outdoor adventure place with quad biking, shooting and a large riding stables. There are horses to hire and they do pony trekking i believe. Just about within 2 hours of manchester
