We joined the C&CC at the end of last year. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on which sites (nationwide) are particularly good for young families. Our kids will be 4 and 1. Obviously I can get reviews on here but they don't necessarily mention the activity options in the surrounding area. We're more into beaches, countryside, animal parks etc than really commercial activities.

From tents to trailer tents to a tin tent to an air tent to trailer tent and back to tin tent!

They would love Kessingland. Its in the grounds of a wildlife park and you can see some of the animals from the site. It is a mile from the beach although it is a little stoney there but 4 miles away is Lowerstoft which has a beautiful beach. There is also a Theme Park further up the coast. I can't think of anywhere better.

We go often to Kingsbury water park. The site is lovely and right opposite a childrens farm. Walking around the water park itself there is a great adventure playground and then by the visitor centre there is a fab playground for younger children, there is also a minature railway, gift shop, cafe and biycle hire all on the water park and within walking distance of the site.

Oulton Broad is only about 3 0r 4 miles away and the sea is 1 mile down the road. There are probably more that I am not aware of.

You would be welcome to join the kids weekend at Kingsbury Water Park (C&CC) on the weekend 23rd May (see Welsh & Wst Midlands meets). Wea re a group of families with young children and we arrange things for them  to do! Our children and 5,4 & 2.

Any questions please ask!

We have been to Windermere last year and the club is good for hot food in the evenings and real ale. Lots of room for the kids to run around.

Norman's bay in Eastbourne is great. It is right by the beach, although  the beach is stoney. Hastings is nearby and there is loads to do in the area. I would not recommend canterbury site. I visited with my friend and altough the site was clean with a great park. I sadly ended up having an arguement over taking a four year old boy in the ladies toilet whilst i was having a shower. The enployee was extremely rude and i cancelled my membership on return from that holiday.
