anyone been to bunree cc site, were the midges a problem.

The problem with the "Midge" is you could ask a hundred people and 50% would say yes and 50% would say No.  Its really pot luck I am afraid, weather and wind have a lot to do with it.  Some would swear by Avon Skin so Soft, others would say it didnt work at all.

There are midgies there, needs a light breeze to keep them at bay.

We were there last year in September for 7 days. I did get bit a few times. Got some skin so soft from the wardens and had now problems after. Just trying to remember to put it on was difficult, must be a man thing.

The site and views are outstanding. We only had one problem. 7 days was not enough time to do half the things that we should have done!

Went to Bunree in August two years ago and did not get bitten by midges, even thought I'm the one they usually choose to eat at.  in fact no problem with midges in the whole two week trip around Scotland.  Beautiful site and area
