Looking to go up to Scotland last week of August and not really sure where to go??

ideally would like, caravan next to lake, views of mountains,good clean toliets and showers, play area for 7 year old, ideally walking distance to village / pub or short drive and a good base for 7 days to sample some of scotland. taking father in law with us (virgin caravanner and bit like victor meldrew - so needs to be good)

looked at loch lomond, and am a member of both caravan club abd camping and caravan club. looked at sites "Luss " and Milarrochy Bay sites and both are favourite so far.... so if anybody can help me please advise.

Milarrochy is up a dead-end road so not so easy for day trips, but a lovely area. Not much in the way of pubs and shops.

Luss is much more accessible, pub and shops nearby, easy access to other places.  Also busier and noisier.

Have you considered Oban?

All on our doorstep, we are indeed privileged.

Their is only one lake in Scotland, The Lake of Monteith.
