We haven't stayed there but when we visited Stourhead, there were caravans next to the car park on a strip of grass. There was a sign saying "Caravan Club". The area was roped of with tape. (Like a police scene of crime. lol)
It was very "public" as everyone who used the car park had to walk past the caravans.
We actually remarked on what a horrible position the caravans were in. Although it obviously suited some people because they were sitting outside their caravans while Joe Bloggs and the world walked past gawping at them.
