I am hoping someone might be able to help with a site recommendation. My wife & I are looking to camp in the Royal Forest of Dean area. I am looking for a grassy site with EHU in or bordering on the forest. I have highlighted a couple of sites in my virtual brochure but was hoping for a recommendation from someone who has been or lives that way. We're looking for an out of the way site but would ideally be close walking to a village for basic supplies. Any help would be appreciated. 

look at forest sites . the forest of dean camp site are lovely. now looked after along side the c&cc there are 3 site christchurch bracelands and the forest i would think the christchurch or the braclands would suit you, there is lots to do in the area.

Forestry commision sites at coleford

Hawthorne Cottage is nice, but maybe not as grassy as you would like, it has hardstandings for caravans/motorhomes.

Thanks for the input. Bracelands sound like the answer. Julia & I do like to take quiet weekends where we can just walk and take pictures.

I had looked at Woodlands View but have been avoiding all year sites when it is just the 2 of us since having a bad experience at one. I'm sure there are perfectly good ones around but at one we felt quite unwelcome because we were holidaying and most of the others lived there.

I've updated Bracelands in my brochure and am going to book for some time in the summer.

No toilets in woodlands.......beautiful and quiet though.You could walk to the toilets at Christchurch thou throu, the gate about 200'300 yards at a guess depended where you are on the site.
