Can anyone suggest a campsite within 1hr drive from Leeds for this weekend - one that is well drained and will take dogs - I am really struggling to find one.

How far are the lakes?  Must be some there open. it appears Park Foot Ullswater is open by their site and they take dogs.

Lakes a bit too far - not finishing work till mid afternoon - and the boroughbridge site is full - as are most sites i keep phoning - and its onlty Feb

you could try holme valley camping and caravan site near holmfirth been there a few times when i lived in huddersfield,its only about 5 miles outside hudds so not too far from leeds and they take dogs. I'd link their ukcampsite.co.uk listing to this reply but I havent got a clue how to do that!!

Ranch at Selby, well drained and they love dogs. Been loads of times, real friendly place and should only take you 45 mins or so if you go along the M62 then join the A19 towards Selby. 

Vale of Pickering at Pickering is well drained.
