Personally, I like Roundhill, toilets and basins only though, no EHU, nothing in walking distance, there is track cycling directly off the site. Ponies and donkeys on site. Ashurst is nice,  Ponies and donkeys on site, a nearby parade of shops and pub nearby in walking distance, they have showers and toilets, no EHU. Holmsley is a bit tatty IMO, Setthorns a bit hilly/overgrown.  Never been to the others, sorry!

The NF sites are run by the C&CC now.

You can bike from Ashurst to one of the towns - can't think of its name but its good cos it's virtually all off road.  We liked it there - the ponies are right on site - you mustn't touch them of course but it's a really nice atmosphere.  Have also been to Aldridge Hill - lovely as well but no toilets.

We use Ashurst for a back to basics weekend or Sandy Balls (yes that's really its name) near fordingbrigde for a sight will all the mod cons.

Sandy Balls is on the northern side of the forrest and is well situated for bike riding.

Holmsley was tatty, but the facilities were upgraded last year after the C&CC linked up with FC.  They are now very good and, as with all C&CC sites, are very clean and well maintained.

It's in a very good position and well worth trying as sites taking tents seem to be at a somewhat of a premium in the New Forest.
