  Yes,  we have stayed at hendra mynach a few times and are going again on the 31/march for 4 days.   its in a very good position a short stroll into town,  dont know about your route from notts but we go via balla lake from manchester. be prepared for the steep road down into the site from the main road .

     Area is very good its a short coastal ride to harlech castle and then on to port merrion and porthmadoch.  a loverly day out.    you can fish for crabs of the harbour wall at Barmouth, or cross the estuary via the railway/ footbridge to the little steam train that runs along the coast, lots to see and do in the town,   enjoy,

Try M1, A50, A38, A5, cut across through Featherstone to the M54 Junction 1 then stay on he M54 when it turns into the A5 to the Welshpool roundabout (A458?) turn left to Welshpool.  Follow signs to Llanfair Caernion (signs dor steam railway) and keep going. After a good few miles you come to a roundabout with a cafe/petrol station on the left, turn right here.  There is a nice coffee shop/mill shop called Meirion Mill just down this road which is good for a stop.  Keep following this road and you will see a turning for Barmouth on the left (it is the same turning for Harlech Castle).  Keep on this road and Barmouth will soon appear.
