Has anyone been to this site in pembroke and if so is it worth the trip down from Stoke not to bothered about whats on site as long as it has toilet and shower block.

Looking for somewhere quiet and child friendly (contradiction in terms) any advice

My son was there on Sunday - he says they are building a new loo block at the moment but he wasn't certain when it would be finished. It can get very wet if it rains., large puddles joined by small pieces of land! But my children have camped there happily but  they will make do with almost anything  I think it is up for sale at the moment..... if you look here you will find 9 reviews.....KatieB

Edited to say - I wouldn't call it quiet during the summer holidays!

I know this site quite well as I used to live in Tenby - its in a beautiful location with a pub/shop/cafe/toilet block/showers etc.  The only downside is that in bad In the bad weather it does flood right up to the pub - they have built a higher sea barrier but the waves can still break though that and can be quite high.  I am going down to Tenby tomorrow to stay with relatives ( not going camping til May as I'm a wimp) and will no doubt take a trip over that way - I love the little village of Solva which is not too far away.  If the weather is good it will be fantastic.

I know it well....my inlaws live just down the road, and lived not far from there many years ago.

stayed there regularly until they banned dogs.

the old toilet block was basic.

gets busy in summer, and by no means quiet, but i hear it has improved since they implemented some rules.

check the ground conditions as the tide was on the road last week in those storms.  Half of the field is below the road, so suggest you pitch on the higher side, but dont go too far up the hill as it can get windy up there.

Funny memories of a police car parked on the lowest bit in the storms 15+ years ago...all you could see was the blue light !

Last time I was there (several years ago) there were nudists on the beach.

But there was a cold wind, so nobody noticed.
