we are off to Grin Low in Buxton in a fornight and I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any dog friendly pubs in the area?   

Either to just have a pint or to have some food, Jack comes everywhere with us.

There are a lot of pubs in that area that allow dogs but aren't listed.  It's always worth asking.  We found it a very dog friendly area in general

We will do as you say to Karen+Peter take Jack with us and ask as most of the friendly pubs don't use the net.

We were in Youlgrave a few years ago and came across a pub.  Peter went in to ask if they allowed dogs and the woman pointed to her left with a smile.

Peter looked and there was a Border Collie / King Charles cross actually sitting on a bar stool at the bar

Funilly enough we are staying at Grin Low (our first time) in July and I'd have asked this question nearer the time.

Our boy goes EVERYWHERE with us too!

Would love to know how you get on at Grin Low and if you do find any doggie friendly pubs!!!

hmmmm don't think I can train Jack to sit on a barstool but it would be fun trying

Hi there,the pubs in Longnor all allow dogs,and do excellent food,The Anglers rest at Tideswell also allow dogs and serve good food ,the Fenny Bently Inn at Fenny Bentley do an excellent sunday roast and the Red Lion at Hurdlow also serve good food, we  camp in the Peak district  as often as possible with our Sam (as we live so close) and on the whole I havent come across many (including food pubs) that dont allow dogs,Ive also noticed that when we go to Cornwall, think it must be a tourist thing because none of our local pubs which serve food allow dogs in ...odd eh !
