Does anyone have or know of anywhere in South Wales with access to Cardiff with a vacancy for 3 tents for the rugby league weekend. There are 4 families (8 adults, 6 children). Electric hook up isn't necessary. We just need a field with a shower/toilet block!
I have already tried the main ones but they are full i.e. Acorn, Landow, Pontcanna. Lavernock said they do not take bookings and you can just turn up on the day but I think I would rather be safe than sorry and try to book somewhere if possible.
Thanks
Donna

... I thought there was another one! not on here but about 3 miles of J28 'bout 12 miles from Cardiff there is a farm that does B+B and camping- would be worth giving a ring although I think it might be a bit basic. It is called Pentre Tai Farm there seem to be two websites one for camping one for b+b but same contact details. x
try barry island, not too far away from cardiff, also penyfan pond at crumlin, i think its called penyfan country park, nice site great views, but about 45 mins away from the capital.
what about tredegar house cc site at newport just off the motorway on the cardiff side . if you wanted to go to cardiff you could always catch the train in. its a lovely site. even if newport is a very poor relation to cardiff.
Thanks all, Cwmcarn hasn't enough room for 3 dome tents, Glyn Y Mul Farm at Neath is full, I've heard Tredegar House is full too, Pentre Tai Farm hasn't any showers installed yet (we can't smell all weekend in a tent!), unable to find tent campsites any in Barry Island?

I know this may be a bit far for you but there is Pont Kemys in a place called Chainbridge near Usk.. I would say it's about 20mins to junction 26 M4. It is on here .. sorry don't know how to do links! x
There is a Camping and Caravaning Club site near Raglan called The Walks. The site is about 35 miles from Cardiff,It is a bit ackward to find but the OH and i camped there in February. They have only 1 shower and toilet but have EHU. We are members of the club but when we arrived the elderly gent we spoke to didnt ask for our club ID card. The telephone number is 01600 780257 and the contact name is Mrs B lewis. The price is £9/10 a night for 2 adults plus 2 kids with EHU. You would have to contact them for advice, they may take you in even if you are not members.
Good luck and enjoy your stay in Sunny South Wales!!!
