Hi, we quite fancy going to this area for 5 nights after the Fisherground Meet in July. I have trawled through some of the sites/reviews and am getting all confused, so thought I would ask for help. We are a family of four so adults only sites are no good to us.

What we need is a site that will take a large tent (Vermont XL) on a EHU pitch. We don`t want much, just decent clean showers/loos, level pitches or as near as possible would be nice, Nice views would be a bonus and better still if the site was in walking distance of the towns. We don`t need a pub or bar on site, but one in walking distance that was suitable for families would be nice, but not paramount.

Any ideas?

we like this site, its a 15min walk down into Robin Hoods Bay.

Grouse hill is good, thats plenty big enough,   we turned up on a bank holiday weekend.  JUST DON'T GET NEAR THE TREES AT THE BOTTOM!!! You will suffer!!!!  Its approx halfway between whitby and Scarborough.  There are a few slopes but I'm sure you would be okay.I think there may be some reviews on here

Manor house Farm is now available, they seem to be taking tents.  Though it is a smallish field.  Yo'ud get a lovely site o Whitby Abbey and its about 5 mins by car to the car park at the Abbey.  They do have a website but you would probably need to ring.  Its only cos my mum has booked for august(it was just caravans before) but it does mention tents on the website.  Not actually stayed myself there But  i think there may be just one shower.  So I would check out the facilities there.  you can at least have a look and see what you think.

Best keep off the baked beans

Hooks House is the best in the area (we are on our way over there today!)

They will not have a problem with a large tent and they have EHU and it is only a 15 minute walk (max!) to the village.

You would not be disapointed with this site,the owners are very helpful and the facilities are clean and tidy.

Middlewood is a nice enough site but they are quite expensive and last time we visited we thought their shower block was a little grubby.
