Right, I've trawled the site search and looked at plenty. I have a couple of sites in mind as possibles, but does anyone have any personal recommendations for sites on the north norfolk coast for just the two adults (we're getting rid of the kids for the weekend!!!) ?? They don't have to be adult only, we understand families go away as we are normally one of them, just for a change we won't be!

Thanks

Hi Mrselvis,

Are you looking for a definite coastal site and does it have to be North Norfolk?

A little further around the coast (clockwise) you will find some lovely sites which we use occasionally. We tend to look for the more quiet sites nowadays with litle or no entertainment on site other than our fellow campers. If we want entertainment, we find it locally to the site. What are you looking for in your surroundings?

For adult only site, we would recommend using Beaulah Hall (near Lowestoft) which is around 5 miles from the coast, in the country yet easily accessable from main roads.

For a family site (but mostly frequented by adults) you could look at RUN COTTAGE near Woodbridge. This is near the coast ( 3 miles) yet also in the country. Plenty of places to visit and excellent cycling roads. It is also somewhere to return to later with the children...?

If you are looking to travel further inland, you could always try our local site. CLOCKHOUSE FARM is in the middle of Suffolk. Very nice walks around the village and surrounding country side. £10-00 per night but only has toilets (no shower) but is a great site for just chilling out and relaxing. If you like history, Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable are two locally famous past residence from this area.

There are plenty more we could recommend but maybe these will have given you an idea? If you choose Clockhouse Farm, give us a nudge and we'll walk up to see you...

See Ya

Nigel

i can highly recommend west runton camping and caravanning club site. It is an extremely beatuiful site surrounded by national trust woodland and heath. There are lots of walks directly from the site. We often walk to the beach at east runton which takes about 30 mins. From there we have walked into Cromer along the beach.

The toilet blocks at the site are the best we've come across.

There is a morrisons in nearby Cromer(about a 5/10min drive)

There is also a lovely pub in west runton (think is was called the village inn) lovely food, which can be walked to in about 20mins.

If you want an away from it all site, happy to run on gas and use your own facilities the jewel in the North Norfolk Crown is a CL behind The Crown pub in Stanhoe (5 miles from Brancaster near Docking.

Absolutely brilliant, good pub, very very quiet apart from the cockeral, £6 a night.

Just come back - and cant wait to return.

Used to go to that CL as a kid, been going for years.

Seacroft CC between East Runton and Cromer site is nicely positioned we have just returned from there, it accepts non members and tents.
