 Been told its only got the basics ,but cant find it on any search here,Has any one stayed there,Thinking of trying our Esterel we just purchased and wanted some where not to far away to start with ,Any one out there ???

I'd second C&CC Cannock Chase.  Stayed in our tent there a couple of times; good mix of caravans, tents, motorhomes etc.

We stayed there one weekend a few years ago with some other motohomers. There are no facilities except water and somewhere to empty the loo. It is very pretty, you pitch in clearings in the woods. AFAIR tents are not allowed, only caravans and motorhomes.

Cannock Chase C & C C site is lovely, have been a couple of times.

Thanks  for replies ,we only need to use site !!or rather pitch for a weekend ,,might have a look at Pillaton  farm ,dont like the idea of camping in the middle of nowhere.

I've heard there are still snakes there too,Now that would put me right off.!!!

We've been there a couple of times - it's really cheap - but only for one night - it's great as it's in the middle of nowhere - it's just hard standings in a wood with a tap.  The forestry commission come round in a van to get your money.

I Mtb round the cahse most weekends Tackeroo is right in the middle..just a few miles to the nearest pubs.There is Nothing there but water and toilet emptying Facilties.

You often see the wild Deer near by .The site will be accepting tents for the music concerts though i have been told.

The site only open recently and i ve seen quite a few folks on there.

If you like walking and cycling defintly a place to visit.

Very similar to woodlands in the forest of dean.....without the shop/elec etc..

With some money spent it could be a top destiation   lots of money that is

We live right by Cannock Chase, if you want peace and quiet thats the place to go, the chase is beautiful.
