Hi

I love having a camp fire but lots of sites ask you to keep the fire off the ground.  we have a small kettle BBQ we take camping and I'm reluctant to use this for the fire as we won't be able to use it again!  What do others do when building a fire off the ground?

You need a firepit. Stand it on a fire blanket so bits falling off don't scorch the gras.

Why do you say you won't be able to use it again?  I've used a kettle BBQ as a fire pit many times.

i have 9 bricks, a 3' X 3' metal plate that sits on top of the bricks. been using that in UKCS meets for over 2 years now. no damage to the grass at all.
