I've just booked for us and the three children to go next June for 6 nights, we've been to Haven's Devon Cliffs site a few times an it was fab, Perran Sands is a long way from South Manchester though so I think I'll keep reading the review right up until we go!

Are we there yet?

We travelled back last night from here and I can say that we hade a wonderful time there.

I don't know if they have picked up on the complaints about the shower blocks but while we were there for the week they were cleaned constantly. Toilet roll and soap never ran out, floors were cleaned several times a day and wardens were around all the time. At busy times the floors got a little dirty from flip flops being worn in the showers but they were soon cleaned.

There was one rather large family/group there who decided to run around drunk till 3:30am one night but were dealt with by the site and they were quiet after that.

Pitch prices are quite steep and I heard people complaining about that and an older couple were not impressed about the amount of noise after 10pm but it is a Haven so I guess it is to be expected with alot of families.

The shop on site was well stocked although expensive but the town is only a 5 minute drive from the park (turn right out of the park) There is a texaco garage on the way and the prices are very good too.

wouldn't go back to this site if you paid for me to go!! Pool was dirty, showers and loos weren't much better, shop expensive, kids club overrated, crazy golf unusable......I could go on!! It's the kind os site that seem to care more about the static caravan side of things than the tourers. Then again, it was a couple of years ago that we went, but once bitten and all that.....

Im sorry you had a bad experience Lsmith29 however we have been to perran sands for the last 3 years for our main holiday along with other Haven sites around the country for various weeks and umpteen weekends throughout the year and apart from the odd wet weekend we have never really experienced poorly kept showers and loos the pools are well kept! The kids clubs are what you and your kids make of them! The more you take part the more you enjoy.

I will agree that the shops onsite are a touch overpriced but no more than the local Spar etc. How was the crazy golf unusable we played a few times when we went this year and it did some raining!

I have to say that we have had complaints and they were listened to and rectified so in that respect they dont care more about statics than tourers but hey if you dont want to go then dont just leave us that do enjoy it to go and enjoy it!!

Hi Lsmith29

I think Madandy was mearly pointing out that your experience wasnt recent (Then again, it was a couple of years ago that we went, but once bitten and all that.....
) , and their experience was more recent and/or regular. The other reviews and earlier comments were rather old, as I am traveling there in the next 2 weeks, i wondered if anyone had been there this year, and if there were any improvements had been made, hence me asking again on this post.

I appriciate that your experience is valid, and greatfull for your complaints to the site of your negative experience (assuming you did complain), as it seems they have done their best to turn things round.

Im acctually really looking forward to it, it will be a luxury site for me as im used to basic sites, no playground etc.
