Hi,
We would appreciate any help on this, it may be that our ideas are too good to be true, but its worth a shot....
We want to go away for bank hol at end of may (so very time limited), we have a 4man dome tent for the two of us and we picture the ideal as the following:
been able to take the dog, to a quiet site, where we can camp by the waters edge (lake rever pond not bothered, so long as nobody would frown at the dog having a dip!), pitches right on the waterside would be ideal, ideally without having to keep the dog on a lead 24/7 shes no bother at all and never uses a lead, it wouldn't be fair to keep her teathered or on a lease all the time. We would also like to have the use of clean showers and w/c and preferably be able to park next to the tent and have a BBQ by out tent, not in a seperate BBQ area.
finally- we are based in n.lincs, so quite central, anywhere in lakes, yorkshire, midlands or north wales would be fine, anywhere up to 2or 3 hours in the car.
So what do you know of? obviously it would be daft to ask for all the above- otherwise everybody would camp there!! but main priority is the dog and the bbq, with good walking and water nearby
many thanks for any upcoming help
regards
joe

many thanks to you both
linnij, i have been there before as a kid, around 7/8 years ago with my parents and the caravan, great site for the family, and yes neice walks etc, infact it was ideal, we loved it and richmond is a lovely place, however it is a tad too large for what im looking for, i have seriously considered it due to the lovely river running by and the fact you can catch trout and bbq it!!! proper camping, thanks anyway! this is certainly the site i will use later in the year when we go with our neices aged 5 and 9
tentcity, brilliant work! i've booked holme valley, i rang and explained what i was after, she said they have a small clearing on the river bank reserved for quiet couples only and only for up to a max of 5 tents, we've got in there!!! fantastic and £9.50 a night too for the tent, the car, two adults and a dog on bank holiday! super! I will be leaving a review when we get back. many thanks
