Hello all.

Does anyone know of a decent little site in or around the central fells? We only need something basic as we will be walking mainly. if its near to a pub that would be good but not essential. I have done a search, but was just wondering if anybody had any other recommendations.

not too sure if this is in the area you are looking for but ideally situated just 5 mins walk (if that) outside Hawkeshead

I haven't stayed at the 1st two yet (altho fully intend to) but they always get recommended in the Guardian (!!).  I stayed at the last one few years ago for 1 night & it was perfect - very basic but in a lovely location.
