another discrimination against those of us that have to go in the school holidays.
It is not a case of discrimination against those who have to go during school holidays, but a case of incentives to attract people out of school holiday time when the site would otherwise be quiet. Don't forget that sites are commercial ventures and need income all the time, not just during school holidays.

So why can some sites charge the same all year?
And why should I pay more for exactly the same facilities?

Nothing personal, not a rip off, just that during the "peak" season they can charge more and people will pay.
Maybe sites that charge the same all year have all year clientele? or they are missing a trick? or they have set prices at what they would like to get at peak season and don't bother making offers for the off-peak.

Simple economics - supply and demand.

Or perhaps they are just genuine people who want to offer the best service for their customers - i spoke to one campsite owner recently who told me we charge the same all year, we don't discriminate against those that have to have their holidays at certain times.
Yes they can charge more, and sometimes people will pay, they don't always have a choice. We have to pay more every year, if we didn't we wouldn't get a holiday, thankfully next year we will be holidaying at the site owned by the aforementioned.

Haven't booked anywhere in case it is miserable weather, but hoping to get away on the Monday night. First choice would be Craken House Farm near Leyburn or Howgill Lodge but I guess it may well be a case of ringing round to find space!
We finally made our minds up to go to somewhere in Kent, but of course have left it way too late. Am trying to find time to ring round any CS or CL with hook-ups that I can, but no luck so far Serves me right, will be more decisive next time!

We're off to The Old Oaks in Glastonbury (1st trip of the year).
Looks like the weather is likely to be warmer, but wet (well showers anyway) - but hey compared to some of the weather we had last year, showers will be a 'walk in the park'!!
