Hi, I am hoping someone can help to recomend a camp site. We are looking for a site that we could use for our yearly family camp. The problem we have is that being a large group we have many needs to consider. We have mixed units, Tents (one very big),a motor home. caravan, folding camper and a pup tent. We have a group of between 5-7 units, this is a family event so the ages range between 4 - 65 and has 2 dogs included, so although we like to be all together and a little away so as not to cause problems for others.(many conversations at once can be slightly louder than normal) we are not a young drunken group that is disrepectful to others. We prefer a site that is not too structured but must have good facilities. (years ago we were told we had to be in bed by 9.30pm) we also like the facility to be able to play group games with the kids ie football, rounders and criket etc, other campers welcome to join in and to do bbqs. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful as we have been doing this every year for 14 years and we like to try different places. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Yvonne

Gibraltar Farm in Silverdale (North West coast) would probably cater for you. Basic but clean facilities and shops within walking distance. I have seen large groups here.
We do one at Highclere, every year like you, with mixed units and dogs, etc, the facilties are fine lovely showers and loos, play area - have seen larger groups than ours there - with no problems, are reviews on here for the site - its in seer green. nr beckonsfield
Thankyou for the suggestions. Highclere sounds a good choice so i have emailed it around the family to see what they think. Gibraltar farm sounds lovely and we may try that ourselves (as we live further north than the others) but is maybe too far for the family camp. We come from all over, we live in east northants, so does my brother, one brother lives in essex, one lives in usa (has hired a motor home from essex and doesnt want to travel more than a few hours with it) Step father lives in southhampton, so as you can see this adds to the problem of choosing the site. If anyone has anymore suggestions i would be more than grateful. some family members want to go near a beach but the site seem to either be commercialized or not very good facilities so if anyone knows of any inbetween please let me know.
Thanks again
Yvonne
