If you don't mind going abroad, Spain is great, we went to Eldelfin Verde fab for kids.

it's on the search if you want to have a look, camping in europe is so easy.  we are going to france tommorow.

Don't let people put you off Haven, you can get a cheap weekend to try out your new tent and if the family enjoy it.

We have been to many Haven sites and even owend 3 statics on a very large Haven site for many years.  We don't use the club's very often but some of the sites are a good base for visiting places.

Good luck with your search

Whitecliffe Bay on the Isle of Wight has a good tent site and your booking allows you to use all the facilities including pools (inside & out) crazy golf, a club in the evenings, pinball machine room (ugh!!) and restaurant.  Also close to sandy beaches and the other facilities on the island.

we're great fans of dawlish warren;  very family friendly resort & plenty to do without being overly commercilaised.

peppermint park is the most convenient park in the area, a short walk to the front & the train station if you want to travel out. there's a few other sites but not as close to the resort centre.

we had much resistance from our older kids when we first started camping, but once there they loved the social interaction & freedom that camping delivers

Is Fisherground at Brotherswater not meant to be really really good for kids?

Hi

We have been to Park Resorts sites a few times, a bit like Haven but cheaper.  the one in North wales (Ty Mawr) has loads to do in the surrounding area and the site itself has an indoor pool, Entertainment/Show Bar, Games, amusements, 2 camping fields and shop and a pub on site.  a 10 minute drive away is Rhyl, a bit cheesy but still lots to do and the other direction is Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and Conwy all again loads to do.  The beach is minutes away and there are supermarkets close aswell as the site shop can be a bit expensive.

We like Haven sites are our 2 daughters love Rory and Bradley but not many of the parks actually take tents and the ones that do are quite expensive even for a tent.  Kiln Park was asking for over £300 for a week in a tent in august!

Also have a look at Unity Park Resort and Warren Farm in Brean Sands both are great for families and loads to do.

Good Luck....

haven do great camping. pitches are kept well, loads to do for kids, great entertainment for kids and adults (few bars and clubs! yay!) and swimming pools.passes to all facities are included in price and toilets ect are in excelent condition.

would reccomend highly. plus if you go 3 times in a year you get 10 nights free stay. also most of the camps have spaces this weekend!!

hope this helps.
