Does anyone know where I can go with my motley crew and my caravan for the entire summer holiday? I'd like to take my tourer and camp at the same site for the 5 weeks or so. Can you do this? Any ideas of the cost? We live in Hampshire, so any advice on campsites, gratefully received. Thanks

How about Cornwall? I can recommend Pentewan Sands Caravan Park, near Mevagissey on southern coast. As a guide, budget for about £15 /night perhaps a little more for peak period. The site has it's own beach. There's a shop, clubhouse and food takeaway on site with a swimming pool ( a bit chilly for older folk!) Pentewan village is a short walk on one side of the site. There's a good pub with good beers and pub food. Ducks to feed on the stream and old harbour pond. There is a path and cycleway from Pentewan all the way into St Austell, which has all the usual stuff. Pizza Hut, Coffee shop, cafes, Cinema if it's wet. McD's for the kids and loads of shops. You can walk the cliff path to Mevagissey to the west. It's more challenging walking east on the cliffs but if you're fit it's worth the effort. Heligan gardens in very nearby. Eden project near to St Austell. Cornish Market for bargain hunters also at St Austell. Big supermarkets in St Austell. We loved it!
Why do you want to stay at the same place for 5 weeks? - I can't think of anything more boring - why not spend a week or 10 days on 3 or 4 different sites. Maybe you could find one in North Cornwall, one in South Cornwall and one in Devon at least you would get a change of scenery and a variety of places to visit.

I know they do long stays at Seaview International in Cornwall because we met a family who did just that. Lovely site that I could easily spend 5 weeks staying at. If only...........
Thanks very much everyone. I will be on to it tomorrow. Reason Fatbum that we want to spend so long there, is that we have 2/3 family groups who all want to do the same, and as we are all teachers we have a lot of time. We thought it would be fun to stay somewhere, relax. Idea being that the husbands/partners pop down Friday night for the weekends.
better still why dont you cross the channel and go to france or spain we go for 5 - 6 weeks. last year was the first year we stayed in this country and it was a complete washout as well as being a total rip off the ferry to the isle of wight must be the most expensive stretch of water mile for mile than going abroad and when you consider the much cheaper cost of living abroad plus the sun etc ,it has to be a better option
