no problem at all giraffe I just like a bit of friendly banter, luckily for me my kids are all up and flown the nest and mrs jonny and I can go away whenever we like. of course I understand what haven are all about fleecing their customers with clever marketing and hidden costs but I just use them as a base for motorcycle touring, I pull my caravan with a commercial vehicle with the bike in the back, you should see the reaction of some when I pull onto a site lol

Well, I seemed to have stirred up a hornets nest here.

Kiln Park was lovely, very quiet at night, no noise at all in tent field after 10.30pm.

Nice clean showers and toilets, cleaners in attendance all day.

security patroll every hour or so. Site was quite full but tent field not overcrowded, plenty of space. Lots of taps and bins on the tent field.

We only came home this evening because my son was feeling homesick and missing his daddy. He'll be back in school tomorrow.

Tenby is a beautiful place. You can walk to the beach along a path direct from the site, then go up steps off the beach into the town.

I still don't feel guilty at taking him out of school for a few days.

We don't make a habit of it, we can't afford holidays abroad, unlike some who take the kids out for a fortnight, and certainly not in school time.

we camp locally usually, because my husband is self employed and can't afford to take time off to come with us.

For all the worried people out there, my sons best subject is maths. He is fully up to speed in all his other subjects.

He did a lot of calculations playing cards for hours in the evenings too  now an expert at beanie, rummy , pontoon, and taxi.

Sits back and waits for the anti gamblers

Glad to hear you had a great time Debbie - my kids love Haven as well.
Nobody is forcing anyone else to go - but I do wish they wouldn't critisise those of us who do take the odd break there.   Although I have not had £1 a pitch, I have had £10 all inclusive pitches.
And to those who would like to critisise, playing cards is actually very good for a child's mental maths.   Even things like patience where one column is ascending ad the othe decending - makes them think both ways.

yes ok you went to teacher college, capitals are generally regarded as shouting on forums, its just manners, if this was an english exam I would use betta gramma, your posts were not at all relevant as the thread is about havens excellent value for money sites and not about you lecturing people about the rights or wrongs of taking their kids on hol I suggest you stick to what you are paid to do, teach the kids when they are in school, the lucky ones will be camping

I know I shouldn't but

When children have missed the start or middle of a topic (usually a Monday or Wednesday) there is no way they can catch up as when that topic comes round again maybe next year it is started from where the topic ended last time. There is no time for teachers to spend helping children who missed out through absence and also not much inclination if the absence was due to holidays. The same applies to Science lessons.

This is why, when my daughter broke her leg on the way to school, I had her up the hospital, leg in plaster and back before the end of lunch bell.

Does this site allow all male groups of about 4 possibly 5 people to camp here?

hi midnite sorry for your wee lass but nice post

luke 4 or 5 males wanting to camp together, in the sites eyes you're bound to be queer, criminal, roudy, troublemaker and all round undesirable !!cker, on the other hand you're probably 5 blokes who enjoy each others company and just want to go fishing, drinking, chasing skirt and generally av a laff,

you need to phone owner run sites, tell them your plans, perhaps offer a "we will behave refundable deposit" good luck and let us know if you get sorted
