Hi, we are looking to go somwhere not to for from scarborough. We are a family of 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 dog. We want somwhere with lots of open space for the kids and dog to run around, and with good walks too. We were looking at one campsite. Yedmandale Farm in West Ayton it looks very good, but i do not know ?. We are going for 1 week. This would be are first holiday in a tent, we have only ever done 2 day before. Can you please help us to find a good site.
Thanks Tracey

we`ve just had six days Jasmine camping park in Snainton, acouple of miles down the road. It`s a quiet site in the country about fifteen minutes from Scarborough. There is playing field for the kids, dogs are allowed but have to stay on the lead in the park, but there is plenty of walking just outside the site
Camping and caravanning club at scarborough is great, you can walk into Scarborough, (its pretty steep hill back) but OH did and she was 8 months preganant at the time! Great open field across the road for the dog and a great little park for kids, Clean facilities and even a takeaway on site!

About 17 miles away but a fantastic site for facilities and right on the Wolds Way so lots of walking http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=wolds+way&by=county They have a big family room with a corner bath and another with a large walk in shower. I believe there is also a bath in the ladies aswell. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. Have a read of some of the reviews. The only downside is the ground is rocky under the grass bur rock pegs will sort that out. The kids get to feed the animals aswell. I cannot recommend this site enough, I should be on commission!!
Whilst staying in the area we had a nosey around around a site called St Helens in the Park - a few miles in land from Scarborough. Haven't stayed on the site but it looked really well kept.
I agree with some other entries on here, the CCC site at Scarborough is a very well kept site just up the road from Scarborough. At least there is plenty to keep the kids amused in Scarborough if the weather isn't up to scratch
We stayed at the C & CC site in Scarborough. It was nice but if you're not a member the sites can be quite pricey. Even if you are a member the prices are quite pricey compared to others so I'm sure via the reviews on this site you might find something equally as good but not as expensive. If you do go there however, make sure that when they tell you where to pitch your tent mark the furthest corner with a tent peg. We pitched ours exactly where he told us, we were quite specific and wanted to make sure we had it right as they were quite particular. After 3 nights when we were wll settled (and he'd cycled past a number of times over the days) he decided we were about 1m to far to the right and insisted we move! And yes, we had a HUGE tent! 12 birth, no fun I can tell you!!! We were fuming, you can imagine how the kids had spread their stuff around. To be fair he did stay and help us move.

The C&CC looks nice and at least you ar asured of good site.....we stayed at CC site which would be no good for you with a tent.......Scarborough is a lovely place with loads to see and do.
we are off to cayton village in july, we have similar needs to yourselves, and after lots of searching we found it ticked all the boxes - near to beach, village shops and pub and dog friendly. We also didnt want anything too exposed as my last time camping my tent was flattened in the night and we found quite a lot on the east coast looked a bit exposed.

Its better to regret things you've done than things you have never tried
we also stay at jasmine park ,its a great site, spotless showers and hot water all day.there are loads of walks to take the dog nearby but as with most sites dogs must be kept on a lead in campwardens are very nice and very helpful
