i would like a site in the north of england, not too bothered about facilities, as long as it has a bog and a shower! would like it cheap (whatever that means this year!) near trees and a river maybe.can anyone reccommend anything? oh, maybe a small play area. (and a bar, and a bath, and a chef, and someone to put the tent up, and a childminder, and......jokin!!!)

Not sure if there is such a thing as a cheap site anymore, but there are a few sites around Garstang, have a look on the campsite search and see what others say about them.Best of luck

Don't know how much they charge for tents but Knights Stainforth is a nice site with a river at the back and some of it falls over rocks and it's lovely, part of it is great for kids to paddle in.
we like Knight Stainforth and if it wasn't so far for us to travel we'd go more often, been a couple of years since we went so not sure of prices either

Greenhills 1 mile outside Bakewell is lovely, got an offer on at the moment for midweek camping (half price). Just got back from there and loved it. Has bar, kids play area, showers, toilets, freezer even laundry room with iron!
There is a river nearby just over a main road though only 5 minute walk out of the site!
