Does anyone know of any UK campsites, preferably in the north half of the country

which have individual emplaements for tents as is very common in France.

You'll have to excuse my schoolboy French, but I seem to remember emplacement simply being pitch, nothing special - in which case I would have thought most places should do what you require.

I think they mean the continental style hedged pitches.
Not seen any in the North but would like to be proved otherwise.

Thats right - each pitch divided off by a hedge. Usually at knee height so you can still chat over it, but it is obvious how big the pitch is. In the better sites they are little flowered borders. In our one last year the "hedges" were herbs. Attracted all the butterflies and ace for cooking/salads.
