You would get more responses if you were posting in the 'Camping Under Canvas' or 'UK Campsites' sections but, anyway, we have the 900XP and yes, there are many sites that won't take big tents, but there are plenty more that do. Our favorites are Home Farm on Anglesey and GlanLlyn on Bala Lake. There are tons of sites that have no problem with big tents - you just have to search a liitle bit harder and always ring to check if in doubt. We find the extra space easily compensates for a small reduction in the number of sites we can stay at.

Hotels Suck. Villas are great but I can't take my Cadac on the plane....

HI

We have the same size tent.   We also had problems with sizing, but once explained, we had no problem at all.

We live in Scotland, and the furthest we travelled was Lancashire, where we stayed in a 2 star campsite, the site itself was not crowded so we pretty much had the tent area to ourselves.

The other area we have camped in is Ecclefechan, at a camp called Hoddom.   This was ok too, although the tent area was measured out so our tent just fitted and no more.

We tended to camp in 2 to 3 star places as they were not too fussy about the size of the tent.

After nearly 1 year, we upgraded to a folding camper.

Good luck.

Hi Mav156,

I've got the same tent and I've taken it to a few different sites, one of which was Parkfoot in Pooley Bridge. I've reccomended this campsite to a few people already so I'm probably in danger of sounding like a rep' for them, but it's a good site and I've used my Diablo 600 there on numerous occasions. It's a big site and the staff there are pretty cool. Low wray in ambleside is a national trust site that I've stayed at also and they where ok with the big tent.

Hope that helps some,

Scot
