Hi everyone,

Im new to the whole camping thing. Just bought a 8 person tent and looking for start going places in the new few weeks. It will hopefully be a nice break for me and my mrs. Any tips on places in north of england that are good to start with?

We went to cumbria many years ago and that was great.

Welcome to UKcampsite, I am new to thisweb site as well. I have just had a lovely weekend at the campsite in Reeth. (see link http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=4974) 

It  was really nice and the countryside is great. there a few pub and cafes within 5 mins walking from the campsite. There aren't many pitches so best ring first. Peter the Warden isreally nice and very helpful. Hope you find some whre nice for your first trip and have a great time!!

Hi John,

I am also new to camping and can recommend the campsite in Keswick, Lake District. Fantastic views, lakes, quiet, vans and tents.... 5 min walk into town centre, great experience.

I too have an 8 person tent and it is worth mentioning that when booking at different sites because they don't always have pitches big enough.

Don't be imtimedated by caravan folk.

Hi and welcome to the site John........there are loads of lovely sites in the Lakes or North Wales have a look on the camp site search and if you see one that you fancy read through the reviews if still unsure post for more opinions from the site.....what type of site where you looking for?

Thanks for the info. I will make sure i saw its a 8 person tent so they know. Im looking forward to getting into camping. My tent is a sunncamp stratus 8. Not sure how good these are. Hoping to start going out soon.
