Hi there.

We are visiting friends in Thornbury, Gloucestershire next weekend and are looking for a site close by. The nearest I have found is Hogsdown Farm in Berkeley, which seems to be about 10 miles away.Would anyone know of a nearer site?  Also we'd be coming via the M4 which means we'd pass our friends to get to the campsite.

We don't know this part of the world at all so any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, you don't say whether you have a caravan or a tent or what facilities you need, or whether you are a member of either club. If you are, there are some certificated sites/locations in that area, so let me know, we stay around that part on our way to Devon or Cornwall.

Sorry about that. We have a Penine Sterling FC and are members of CC and C&CC. Electrical hook up would be nice but we're only using it as a place to put up for a couple of nights so doesn't have to be all singing and dancing, etc .

We have stayed at Limebrook Farm, Wick, easy to get to from J18 of the M4, it's a c&cc certificated site, phone 01179 373796, has ehu but no loos or showers, it was fine if you don't mind poultry running around.

This time we will be at Hortham Farm, Almondsbury which is a CL, emailannalisawood at hotmail.com, off J16 of the M5, not far to go from the M4, again only ehu.

i can also recommend hortham farm....nice little site 5 mins from thornbury....hubby plays cricket for almondsbury so i know the area well. come off the m4 at  the m5 cross its really easy to get to
