Hello and welcome to the forum.

Nice tent!

Despite living in this beautiful county I've never camped here.  But you can do some of your own research by clicking on the button at the top of the screen (Camp Site Search) and read the reviews by members who've camped at the campsites.

Good luck.

Hayfield campsite near edale is great. It has been retained in quite a natural state which for a c+c club site is unusual. Theres no bar or pool and theres a good pub just up the road. We were up there in May and really liked it (despite the foul weather). The facilities are really clean too.

Good luck

Hi,

We have tried quite a few campsites in Derbyshire. Rivendale nr, Ashbourne is quite a nice site and isnt too noisy if you avoid bank holidays, it also has a small bar and is right next to the Tissington trail, so if you like to go cycling thats a bonus.

The best one for peace and quiet though for me, is just outside Derbyshire, just into Staffordshire, its called Longnor Wood, off the A515, its an adult site too.

Although I do love Edale, please dont go to Coopers if you want peace and quiet, I have been there a few times because I love the area so much, and its never been quiet.

Have a good time,

I can strongly recommend Upper Booth near Edale.  We spent 4 days there at the end of May and it was heaven.  Its very remote and peaceful with basic facilities and loads of walking from the site.  We will be back as soon as we can!  Ange

Weve stayed at a site called Longnor wood(?) in the village of longnor, just outside Buxton. Its an adult only site, so is really quiet. The site is very spacious, we had bad luck with the weather, but the site refunded our money for leaving early without us asking (an unexpected surprise!). There are some pubs and a chippy in the village. It has good links to all the local towns.

PS if you go to this area, Llam Park (a national trust park) is well worth a visit.

I think the site is reviewed on here, we would certainly recommend it.

Happy camping,

Richard, Lindsay and Molly the dog

Call me Mr Pedantic, but its postal address suggests it's in Derbyshire.

Green Hills, Bakewell is one of our favourite sites - nice walk along the river into Bakewell from the site.

Another recommendation for Longnor Wood, it's one of my favourites in Derbyshire, big pitches, nice and quiet.

Hayfield C&CC sie is not in Edale - its just down the road from Glossop. You can walk to Kinder from there, also Kinder reservoir is close by. Not stayed at this site (as i live in Glossop) but have done some walks around there.
