We are looking for a site that has toilets, showers and welcomes familys .All the ones i can find are either a distance from the beach or are Haven or such like hich we dont want as we want to spend some quality time with the kids and have holidays as like i used to when i was a child .
Any suggestions of sites would be gratfully recieved

Try Carlyon Bay camp site near St Austell in Cornwall. We went there whitsun week. They have a childrens playarea and a teenagers area there is a swimming pool and shop. They offer free crazy golf, pool, table tennis etc. There is a small food takeaway on site, but no pub or club... I took my two nephews (ages 9/11) and my 17yr old son. We all had a really good time, we went out in the the day visiting newquay and other areas. Came back went to either Tescos or Adsa which are both about 10 minutes away to get the barbie goodies, came back to site kids went off to play while we had a bbq and a beer or two! And the kids were in view as the site is very well set out. The owners were lovely coudn't do enough to help with any query you have...We would definatley return... but don't take my word for it read the reviews and click on to website link.
I'm sure you won't be disappointed whereever you go in Cornwall as its such a beautiful place especially with the sunny weather its even better
I went here last year with my two grandchildren and will be going again later this year, in my oppinion its great and loads of entertainment for the kids all day and some at night, and the beach is on the end of the site.also I think there is a meet for there on here somewhere.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.

Hi Charlie. I can highly recommend Trevornick at Holywell Bay near Newquay. I have been twice before and am going again on 19 July for 2 weeks. There is a short walk to Holywell Bay beach. The site offers everything you could possibly need from swimming pool - on site shop. Have a look at their website, just google Trevornick.
Gwithian Farm, nr Hayle (St Ives) is fab. Went there last year for 2 weeks and wanted to stay longer. Great toilet/shower blocks, very family friendly in a non commercial sense. They keep the centre of the main field free for games rather than lay on entertainment.
Short wallk to the beach, my daughter was 2.5 last year when we went and she had no problem with the walk.
Fantastic owners, all in all probably the best campsite we have ever been to!
They do get booked up but it is worth enquiring and keep checking back. Initially we could only book for 1 week but kept checking and they had a cancellation which gave us the 2 weeks.
