Hi Shelley

We live in Bude so have obviously NOT used the local campsites but can recommend (through friends and family) WOODA FARM PARK.  I think they have tent pitches?  Check out their website.

Where ever you stay have a great time in our local area!

Sharon

My friend has stayed at Wooda Park and really liked it, thought the pitches were a good size, she's been about 3 times. I don't know if it does entertainment, check out the website.

Hi Wilber

Yeah, we know Bude Meadows.  It's a really big site and looks really clean and tidy and caters mainly for familes.  It's always busy so it must be good.  Some friends of ours with a caravan came down in February, to check out the site because they'd booked for August, but they didn't like it???!!!  Said the pitches were far too small (mind you they do seem to pack up their whole house to take with them!!!!).  I'm sure for 'normal people' the pithces are fine!!!

There's also a brand new site open now, right next door to Bude Meadows.  It's called Widemouuth Fields.  At the moment it's very 'plain' but will improve in time.  They've not really advertised that much so don't seem to have been very busy since opening in May??????

The C&CC have a site up the road too, which also looks really nice and always seems to be busy!  Great views over the coast from this one.

Hope this helps?!

Sharon

PS Martin - Bude Holiday Park is a bit grotty - nice position though!

Hi Wilber

Well, it's big compared to most of the sites we stay on!

There are some really good pubs/places to eat in and around Bude.

Bay View Inn - Widemouth Bay - food is a bit expensive but the views are fab (when it's not raining!!!).

Brendon Arms - in Bude - good pub grub and very reasonable - gets really busy though.  Next door is the Falcon Hotel - really good food - bar prices are a bit steep but their lasange is to die for!

For beachside snacks both Life's A Beach and the Crooklets Beach Cafe are good and reasonably priced.

For takeaways - best fish & chips in 'town' - Tasty Plaice in Queen Street.  Best Indian is the Mirchi (restaurant does takeaways).  Best Chinese is just out of town at Flexbury (Crooklets beach area) - Chungs.

If you want a really nice meal out/restaurant you have to go to Tiandi (chinese/thai/asian) - it is the best place to eat out around here. Highly recommended!

There are also some really good country pubs if you want to travel a bit further afield, our fave being the Elliot Arms at Tregadillet - just off the A30 near Launceston!  Brilliant home-made curries!!!

If you need to know more let me know this morning or w/c 14/7 coz we're off to the Peak District this afternoon for a week of wet and windy weather!!!

Enjoy Bude.

Sharon
