We are getting married next summer and would like to have a camping weekend for a group of family and friends. We need a field where we can camp for a long weekend and play some music (we are NOT a bunch of ravers, all in our 40s...) where we can party in peace and not disturb anyone. Ideally we would like to have a camp fire and it's essential there is a loo (portaloo that we organise is fine) and access to water.
Does anyone know of such a place?

------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
Start off under the list of sites that allow campfires, choosing the area you want and then contact them to see if they have a field you could use or book the place exclusively, which should be possible if they only have 20 or 30 pitches I'd have thought?

There are tons of sites that have rally fields. The bongo owners often hold weekends with 20-40 units in a rally field and find places all over the place. We even have a wedding bash this year so I am sure you will find one. Have a great time.

Claire - is that the place in Suffolk? I checked it out and it sounds absolutely great but this worried me...
No curfews but no music systems after 2300 hours - the owners and the neighbors need their sleep!
We will be making some noise, and def after 11.00 pm...
They should be cool with the general sitting round the campfire chatting we have done this until 3-4 am with no problems at all, its the music that upsets people. Give Alan a ring and tell him Claire pointed you in his direction (my son works there) Me and a few friends are there in August you are more than welcome to join us for a night or 2 to see what its like. Call it a test run. We will not be in bed at 11 and Alan will be out with us (he is a very laid back chap )

Just look for sites that are small enough for your party to completely take over then call the owner and ask. Plenty of site owners will be fine with it if you're up front with them.
We definitely will want to have music and dancing, most probably to the early hours, so hiring a whole campsite might be the best bet. Anyone been to a small campsite near to SE London that might be willing to allow us to do this?
Try calling Burnbake in Dorset. They have a couple of rally fields that are well away from the main camping area so you wouldn't have to be too quiet in the evenings. It's less than 2 hours drive from London
