I have just got back from a ste called Hallcroft Fisheries near Retford in Nottinghamshire and the fishing was excellent (as was the site itself) Can any other fishing caravanners recommend sites with good fishing (or warn against the bad ones)

Hiya,

We go to Pillaton near penkridge, it's got 4 pools, all well stocked, decent carp etc, the site is great too. Search for them on the camp site search on here and link to their website for photos etc.

If you choose the right pitch you can practically fish from your van.

We often go for a walk around here and it is very popular with people parking next to the lake for the day.

We went to this site at the weekend plenty fishing and it is free if you have a rod licence.There were plenty fishing all day and it was pouring it down.

Springwater Lakes, Carmarthenshire

Old Oaks, near Glastonbury (Adult Only)

Also second Thorney Lakes for the fishing, but we haven't camped there.  We camp at Bowdens Crest which is about 10 mins drive away and Peter drives over to Thorney for a days fishing.
