For Aug bank holiday weekend we are planning on taking our baby (7 Month) camping. It is a family of 5 including the baby. Does anyone know of any good family campsites that have elec hook up pitches and reasonably cheap that could situate a Vango diablo 600?

Any help would be appreciated.

We went to Conwy Camping Whitsun week. Prices with ehu for 3 adults and 2 kids were about £20 a night over bank holiday... pitches were quite big ... we have 7m tunnel tent and was not a problem to pitch it 'sideways on' ( some sites we have gone on have asked us to pitch it the other way so it is only 3m..if you see what I mean!) ... they have outdoor and indoor play area (although we did not actually go there) and there is lots in the surrounding area. Worth a look.

Aberech Sands - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=1901

We were there last summer, and there were definately large tents on site.   It has direct beach access.   About 10mintes drive into Pwhelli and about 20 to Porthmadog.

My only advice would be do not go to Rhyll or Prestatyn

Of all the places in UK we have been these had to be two of the worst places to go.

Even Welsh people I know say go further south.

(I do not mean to offend anyone - just my opinion)

We have been many times to Conwy touring and caravan park.  It is families only and you get a good sized pitch.  There is a pubon site and the children play areas are good.  The shower blocks are basic but always clean.  Our only critisism is that it isn't very well lit.  Although a good torch/camplight would be fine for going to the toilet midle night with kids!!  Prices are reasonable.  You need to drive to the nearest town/shop etc.

Fron Farm has good reviews. We stayed for one night to test one of our new tents and it was very reasonably priced. The toilets were not up to much but to be fair, the rain was torrential and a group of girls were wiping muddy boots with toilet paper and throwing it on the floor (they were doing DofE awards). We will try this site again as its quite close to us for a quick weekend get away.
