I've been with children and dogs. It's great. Small play area but lots of space and other children to play with. It's directly on the moor, you walk out of the gate and your straight onto Exmoor, so there's no need for a dog run. You can choose where you pitch so unless you need electrics, I'd go near the gate end, handy for those dog runs and saves picking up. The loo block is in the middle, electric hookups in the lower field where the play bit is, non-electric unmarked camping area on the other side. Lots of lovely villages and nice eating places all over Exmoor.
It's always worth searching for a site under 'campsite' search as people will have usually posted reviews about a site. Or to do a post search under the 'search' button as I helped another poster who had queries about Halse Farm.
Also handy for the Tarr Steps which mine loved paddling in. Have a great time!
