Hi I am new to camping, went this week-end and have seriously caught the camping bug.

Can anyone recommend some quieter campsites with basic facilities and great scenery in Wales? Thanks.

Hi beegpeeg,

You say "quieter" sites - which site did you stay at to give us an idea of the benchmark?!  You will find that on this forum there is a lot of discussion on what makes the perfect site which usually depends on the individual's perception!

Personally I have used http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=4636 this site last August and the reviews suggest it hasn't changed a bit which is good to know as camping is more popular this year.

I would second swanseajack's suggestion of Fforest Fields. A beautiful site with lovely views and walks.

North or Sarf' Wales?

If North, Graeanfryn Farm near Morfa Nevyn (C&CC) site - not yet reviewed on UKCS -  was very quiet when we stopped there three weekends ago...

Very scenic, near the coast, four family shower rooms & electric hook-up.

Fairly cheap - £12 a night if I remember correctly...

Thanks for your suggestions. We stayed somewhere called Court Farm in Llanthony last week. We liked the fact that it was really basic- only toilets and a tap, which added to the fun of it. We were hoping to be set back on our own a bit but had campers all around us.....any suggestions of places in wales or around the west midlands v much appreciated!
