Hi, We are off here next week in our new tent just wondering how the site is fairing with this lovely summer we are having! I am trying to put it off but husband is determined we are going come what may
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Hi we are back! Watermouth Valley was a fab site! Views to die for!!!
Sadly the weather was rubbish mostly and yes it did get muddy in places but to be fair a lot of this is caused by pepole who DROVE to the loo block cos it was raining!!!
The owner and all his family tried so hard to keep the mud at bay and the loo blocks clean - they deserve a medal for all their efforts!!
I for one will return again. Shame they don't accept reviews anymore as I would be putting in a very good one.
Glad to hear you had a good time. Did you get to mention reviews to them and how it would help them for people to know their hard work is appreciated? I can't believe people drove to the loo block!!

We saw people driving to the loos when it was raining at a site on the Lizard a few years ago and yes it of couse made the site much muddier! Unbelievable!

It is a fair walk to the toilet block, depending where you are sited, and could well be soaked by the time you arrived there, there is a road for the cars, but the owner uses a tractor for rides and he actually makes ruts in the grass, not the campers.
Pleased to hear that you had a good time there this year, just be pleased that you WASNT there last year, Hence the reviews being moved.
Nice to know that perhaps our comments have made improvements.
The tractor rides are no longer! So this can't be to blame this year. Sadly it was definately down to the rotten weather and the people who drove to the loo block, most of them couldn't wait for a car to pass so just drove on the edges of the grass.....isn't part of camping/caravanning getting wet!! haha....
I really do feel that the owners do a great job and are very easy going - perhaps too easy going! Also the price of pitches are really good value - to be honest if anyone is looking for wide tarmac roads, no mud, top class facilities etc, then they would be looking at sites which charge over double to what Watermouth Valley camping do.
hi we went in July our pitch number was 34 (I think) it was on the bottom on the stretch to the Saw Mill pub it was huge! It was the second pitch from the toilet block, I think the pitches on that part of the field where bigger, a little slopping but huge!!
Just returned from a very muddy pitch opposite the toilet block, having said 'no thanks' to the one we were booked on - up the hill on the camping field - only one other tent up there! Didn't fancy our chances of getting the car down again, nor the trek to the toilets.
To be fair considering the amount of mud the toilets were kept clean but the problems are made worse by the campers!! As previously said people drive to the toilets and seem unable to use the bins that are provided. My husband experienced a camper emptying his chemical toilet down the water drain as he was filling up our water bottles! Not only was he using the wrong facility but he couldn't even wait.
We did get stuck in the mud and had to push the car and I did think that the owners could maybe have done a little more to try to fill some of the water filled ruts but that said they were friendly and it is cheap and cheerful.
Last year in that field you were camped on, I went down in the mud to past my ankle!!! and it stank, and I mean really stank. Seems nothing has changed to improve the ground conditions.
