Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Sandford is a good base, near Bournemouth and monkey world, You would have to check out the reviews as they are mixed.
I have only stayed in one of the caravans there it has indoor/outdoor pool, club house, crazy golf, landerette, quite a big park if you like that sort of thing - my kids loved it they are 5 and 3
Try Wareham Forest Camp Site. Only looked around it but very nice.
Also try - Lytchett Manor - good reviews, Sandford C & C - busier, Beacon Hill - ideal for active families. All these are fairly flat too! Otherwise there are dozens of sites around nearby, but with some, you'll need to be a 'mountain goat', especially if you go towards the Isle of Purbeck e.g. Corfe Castle, Swanage & Lulworth.
Expect most to be basic. Most will be cramped at this time of year.
I do find that few enforce a 'quiet' after 11pm or similar policy though, which is a shame!

Ridge Farm is another I've looked at! Very nice but always full & never been able to get booked in! It is basic.
Just around the corner is Redcliffe Farm. This is next to the river. Again basic. The main downside is that the two occassions we've stayed, we found noise to be a problem. Although, someone on another posting 10 days or so ago hinted that it may have closed down!

We stayed at Sandford twice , when our girls were small , not camping though , in a static . It's an ideal site for young children , & there is a lovely beach at Swanage .
