Hi Lou,

I haven't stayed at that site before but you are visiting my families favourite part of the world. Where shall I start.... Just outside Penzance is Newlin. This is a commercial fishing village, not much for the kids. at bit further on is Mousehole. This is a bautifull old fashioned fishing village. A must for an evening walk around and a family evening of fish and chips. In the other direction away from Penzance is Marazion. A beatiful old monastrey (St Michaels mount) you can walk across the causway. Also there is a nice park for the kids to play on. Towards St Ives is an excellent beach - Carbis bay, if the weather is good it is worth the travel to this beach (about 20 mins) very clean and a sun trap. if you are adventurous, you can walk out along the rock wall and pick large fresh muscles, we do this most nights and a large group of us have supper, you can also snorkle for spider crabs here with ease. We BBQ all this most nights! My wife says go to tesco's at carbis bay, they have the best view from their car park! lol, its true.

From Penzance you can helicopter ride to Scilly Isles (expencsive though), the minnack theatre at lands end, open air theatre if you fancy a play? St Ives is a must, the kids will love the beeches, crabbing, boat rides and naughty seaguls, so hang on to your pasty! to be honest, you can spend a fortune or as little as you want. If you want to take your kids out every day to fun places, parks and theme parks, take £500 just for these spends! choose selectively, and view local free attractions, you can save a fortune and see beatifull cornwall as well!

Enjoy, and let us know how you get on!

Regards,

Batch.

Trencrom Hill is also worth a visit. Its about 4 miles outside St Ives near Lelant. A short scramble up the hill where there are giant stones and the view ranges accross the peninsula from Godrevy Lighthouse and beach to St Michaels Mount. Locals tell the story of the 2 giants who threw the stones at each other, one on Trencrom the other on the Mount.

We often stay at Gwithian as in my opinion the beache from Gwithian to Hayle Estuary is the best in the Duchy.

The popular attractions are Lands End Experience, World in Miniture, Paradise Park, Flambards, Dairyland, Poldark Mine (only good if you actually go down the mine), The Seal Sanctuary. and Goonhilly Satellite Station.

There are lots of other small attractions that you will only find while touring. We found a Shire Horse Centre once where our children were allowed to groom and ride the horses for the best part of 2 or 3 hours.

The Cider Farm is free! a cracking day out, I think it is between Perenporth and Newquay! Farm animals, face painting, pottery, tractor ride through the vinyards (small cost) and cider/wine tasting!

Top Bannana!
