Hi All,

New to this site so apologies in advance!!

I have been looking for a site in Essex with some entertainment for my children for weeks, the last four that I have phoned have told me that they only take upto 19ft carvans!!!! Now I know I have a huge caravan but they all want to charge me for two pitches.

Can anyone recommend a site that will take a larger caravan and has something for the children to do ie swimming pool, play area?

this group of parks are in North Devon, they definately take 26ft caravans as we had a seasonal pitch with ours for 2 years on their Twitchem park.  They all have pools indoor and outdoor, childrens entertainment and a bus that runs between all their 4 parks, as well as to the beach.

We have been asked a couple of times about the length of caravan, and only once been refused - said their pitches werent long enough - cannt remember where but know it was the New Forest area.   But on the whole havent had a problem.

We haven't had any trouble either but we only use CLs and CSs now, don't need pools etc .

  Thanks all for your posts. We are fans of CLs also but on this occasion we wanted somewhere that had a bit more entertainment for our 13 year old - we have a disabled 10 year old that needs a lot of support and our 13 year old wanted some on site activities - a swimming pool was a request as it is something that both my sons can enjoy together. The places that I contacted were more commercial - which we have never tried before and most seem to have a 6mx6m policy.

We stayed here http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=pooh+cottage&by=sitename    in our tent last year. Throughout our 10 day stay on the site there was a huge winnibego (sp?), one with the sides that move out to extend their living room. So I would imagine your caravan would be no problem.  It has a lovely outdoor pool as well.
