Looking at both areas. Dont like busy or tacky areas. Looking for nice 2 week holiday with kids, lots of beach time and pool if weather is good. Worried north Devon will be windy but Cornwall a long way. Help? Can't decide!

Can recomend Charmouth in Dorset.Lovely sites round there for camping or self catering.Seadown is a lovely site minutes from beach and only 3 miles from Lyme regis.
Try Warcombe Farm in Woolacombe, been twice nice site, good shower/toilet block, site is a little sloping in parts but has plenty of flat areas.Very close to Woolacombe and its magnificent beach and fair bit to do if its wet but research area first.
Watermouth Valley Camoing and Caravan Park is ideal, just come back from there. Great site and so near to Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. Beaches in the area are fantastic.
------------- Enjoying being away in the Tintent!

Visited St Ives when we were down in Cornwall the past few weeks. Very pretty, but didn't really like the place.thought it was a bit up itself, if you know what I mean!
There are many areas of Cornwall that are not tacky, the Roseland peninsular was very nice.
We've just got back from Warcombe Farm near Woolacombe, whilst the campsite is very nice especially the the showers and a few very private pitches which looked nice. I do think its rather over priced, I know everywhere is expensive in the summer holidays but for our family (2 adults, 2 children) in a tent without EHU it was costing £28 per night!!! that along with having to pay £5 or £6 to park at Woolcombe or Croyde beach made it pretty expensive for a short camping break.
Also when booking at Warcombe Farm be aware you have to pay in full up front!
Saying that it is a lovely area and not quite as busy as I thought it'd be at this time of year.
