I havn't been to luss campsite but it's on the beach only 5-10 mins drive from here. There's a shop that sells almost everything you want in the village of Luss. You can also catch the bus into Balloch where you will find supermarket, tourist shop, pubs, resturants, take aways Etc you could ever want. there is also a public slipway for boat launching
Let me know when you coming up and I will met up with you for a drink or two.

Jelly18-just check ground condition, this site is soggy during normal weather but like most of the uk the weather has'nt been "normal" for this time of the year.Other than that the location is 1st class...

It is a fool who has to say something.
We were there last year in July and it was very very waterlogged.Lovely site though with gorgeous views
but we were camped near the water and the midgies
were a nightmare to my OH, funny they didn't bother
me lol
and yes theres pubs and shops within walking distance
the onsite restaurant/hotel is a bit pricey though!!!
Balloch is great though and we were totally gutted when they closed the site there to tents due to flooding and
now is just for caravans!!! Plenty of lochside walks there and shops galore!!You'd defo be able to launch a boat in balloch.
We went september last year, we didn't have a midgie problem, thought the site was beautiful, great views, walks along the Loch and a short walk into the village, with a local shop and a restaurant/pub/hotel in the village which was also lovely.
We would have gone back again this year but with the price of petrol can't afford to drive all the way up to scotland again so we are saving for next yera and Luss will definitely on the list to go back to.
Enjoy
