to stay at Dower House, Thetford Forest for a few nights next week.

First trip out, hope it's flat and not windy there!

Excited and scared! Hope we odn't make a hash of putting the tent up!

Is there anything in the area to do does anyone know?

Grimes Graves just outside Thetford is worth a trip! Newmarket race horse musium is worth a look. Bury St Edmunds is nice too.

The zoo nearby is nice...can't bloody remember what its called???!! Loads of signs for it everywhere, I'm sure it begins with a b!  Also go to the nearby forest centre. Its signposted and they have bikes for hire. You can cycle round a route (they provide you with a map) and every now and then there is a big sculpture thing made so that kids can climb and play on them-sounds a bit weird but its good!

Also you can order hire bikes that they deliver to the dower house so you can ride through the forest surrounding the site

Thanks everyone, lots of ideas there. :)  Banham zoo would be good for the kids.

WE're in the meadow, does anyone know if there's a toilet block there?

Thanks
